# Private Play

> Private Play by Yangworks is an iPhone player for your own photos and videos: full-screen vertical swipe playback, Favorites, Shuffle and Highlights, with an encrypted on-device library. Requires iOS 17 or later. App Store ID: 6793883957.

**Local privacy**

- The app keeps the user's media in an encrypted local library on the iPhone; it does not host that library.
- App lock is configurable and supports Face ID, Touch ID or the device passcode.
- No app account, ads or tracking.

**Viewing, Favorites and Highlights**

- Swipe vertically through imported photos and videos in the full-screen player.
- Mark Favorites to revisit selected items, or use Shuffle to rediscover the collection.
- Highlights save favorite video time ranges for replay without duplicating or re-encoding the underlying video. Multiple Highlights can be saved in one video and revisited in the Highlights grid.
- Imported or fully downloaded media can play offline.

**Import paths**

- Import from Photos, Apple Files or the share sheet. Photo imports leave the originals unchanged.
- Access NAS media through DS file or an SMB location in Apple Files. Configure WebDAV directly in Private Play.
- Select files or folders and finish downloading before offline playback. Downloads preserve server originals and do not upload media back to the server.
- Purchases, restoring purchases and optional network imports require connectivity.

**Access and purchase options**

- Monthly is an auto-renewing subscription; Lifetime is a one-time purchase. Both provide full access and support Family Sharing.
- Apple's purchase screen shows current local prices, any eligible offer and the applicable terms.
- Viewing and adding media require active access. Existing vault items remain exportable to Photos without Pro.

**Supported boundaries**

- Private Play does not include a standalone SMB client; SMB access uses Apple Files integration.
- NAS playback uses downloaded local copies. Server streaming and two-way media synchronization are not provided.
- A Highlight is a saved range, not a separately exported video clip. Its source library video must remain available.
- Encryption is not a backup. Keep independent copies before deleting the app or replacing a device; the publisher cannot recover a lost local library.
